Tiempos verbales. Was going to.


"Was going to" se usa para hablar de intenciones pasadas que no se han cumplidos

Tiempos verbales en inglés.


Para hablar en el pasado usando going to simplemente ponemos el verbo to be en el Past simple. Entonces:

Was going to se usa para hablar de planes o intenciones que no se han cumplidos.
  • I was going to write to you, but I couldn't find your address. - Yo te iba a escribir, pero no podía encontrar tu dirección.
  • We were going to go on holiday last week. - Nos íbamos a ir de vacaciones la semana pasada.
  • I believe we have asked you all the questions (that) we were going to ask you. - Creo que ya te hemos hecho todas las preguntas que íbamos a hacer.
  • I was going to study a lot for the exam, but I had no time. - Iba a estudiar mucho  para el examen, pero no tenía tiempo.
  • He was going to call you, but he lost his mobile phone. - Iba a llamarte, pero perdió su móvil.
  • Ann was going to visit us, but she had a car accident. - Ann nos iba a visitar, pero tuvo un accidente de coche.
