Present Simple - Presente de indicativo

Gramática inglesa  Hay dos grupos de verbos en el pasado; los regulares y los irregulares.

Para formar el Past simple con verbos regulares, usamos el infinitivo y añadimos la terminación -ed. Los regulares siempre terminan en -ed.
Verbos regulares:
en general añadimos la terminación -ed al verbo,
allow    (permitir)
listen    (escuchar)
start     (empezar)
talk      (hablar)
allowed
listened
started
talked

Sin embargo, hay variaciones,
para verbos que terminan en una -e sólo añadimos -d.
arrive       (llegar)
believe     (creer)
change    (cambiar)
like           (gustar)
love          (amar)
arrived
believed
changed
liked
loved

Con los verbos que terminan en una vocal + un consonante, excepto la y o la w doblamos la consonante final.
plan    (planear)
stop    (parar)
planned
stopped

Finalmente si el verbo termina en una consonante + y, cambiamos la y para la i. study -> studied.
cry        (llorar)

marry   (casar)
study    (estudiar)
try         (intentar)

La Pronunciación de la terminación -ed depende de la letra que va al final del verbo. En general la "e" es muda.
Hay tres sonidos de la terminación “ed”
1)      /d/
2)      /t/
3)      /Id/

verbos que terminan en el sonido b, g, l, m, n, r, s, v, y, z. (sonidos suaves) pronunciamos sólo la d.
