Gramática inglesa  going to se equivale a ir a y se usa para hablar de una intención o un plan. 

La estructura afirmativa es:

           Sujeto + el verbo “to be” + going to + verbo / sustantivo

• Ann is going to sell her house. - Ana va a vender su casa.

 1. Se usa going to para hablar de planes en el futuro.

• We are going to spend our holidays in Florida. - Vamos a pasar las vacaciones en Florida.
• We are going to  meet at 7:30. - Nos vamos a quedar a las 7.30.
• I’m not going to the party on Saturday. - No voy a la fiesta el Sábado.

 2. Usamos going to para hacer una predicción sobre el futuro basada en la evidencia.

 3. También cuando tenemos miedo que algo pueda ocurrir.

• Get down from there right now. You're going to fall! - Bájate de allí ahora mismo. ¡Te vas a caer!
