Gramática inglesa Para formar el imperativo, usa el infinitivo del verbo sin to.
por ejemplo,Come here. no To come here. - Ven aquí
Usamos el imperativo para;
1. dar órdenes a alguien.
- Stop! - Para / pare
- Do not smoke here, please. . No fumes / fume aquí, por favor.
- Do not walk on the grass. - No pisar al cesped.
2. ofrecer algo a alguien
- Have some more coffee. - Toma / tome más café.
3. Hacer sugerencias
- Tell your boss you can’t work late tonight. - Dile a tu jefe que no puedes trabajar hasta tarde esta noche.
3. Dar instrucciones, por ejemplo, para hacer una receta, para dar direcciones o para construir algo.
- Peel the potatoes, cut them to the same size, wash them well and leave to soak for half an hour in cold water. Finally, dry them well with a cloth. - Pelar las patatas, cortarlas del mismo tamaño, lavarlas bien y dejarlas a remojo una media hora en agua fría. Por último, secarlas muy bien con un paño.
- Go straight on and take the second on the left. - Siga recto y tome la segunda a la izquierda.
- Put the pieces together and tie them with string. - Pon las piezas juntas y átalos con cuerda.
4. Imperativo + pronombre. lo, la = it, los, las = them
Give me the money. - Dame el dinero.
(Give it to me) - (Dámelo) it = the money
Buy the book. - Compra el libro
(Buy it) - (Cómpralo) it = the book
Wash your hands. - Lávate las manos.
(Wash them) - (Lávetelas) them = hands
5. En el inglés podemos usar please para que la frase se quede más cortés o educado.
- Please take a seat. - Por favor, tome asiento.
- Please wait here. - Por favor, espere aquí.
- Please don't smoke here. - No fume aquí, por favor.
