Ketevan "Katie" Melua nació el 16 de septiembre de 1984 es una cantante originaria de Georgia nacionalizada británica en 2005. Pasó su infancia en Georgia donde su padre era cardiólogo. En 1993, la familia se trasladó a Belfast y luego en 1998 a Londres. Con 15 años ganó un concurso en el canal de TV británico ITV. El compositor Mike Batt le descubrió en 2003 mientras ella estudiaba en la “School for Performing Arts & Technology.” Se convirtió en la artista femenina que más discos vendió en 2004 en Reino Unido.
